CHELMSFORD — Chief Colin C. Spence reports that the Chelmsford Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash Tuesday morning at a home on Proctor Road.

Police were dispatched to 4 Proctor Road at 8:32 a.m. for a report of a vehicle crashing into a garage. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 2016 Mercedes-Benz had driven through the rear wall of the garage, leaving a 10-foot-high-by-7-foot-wide hole.

Two-thirds of the vehicle had broken through the wall, with one-third held back by the garage’s foundation.

An on-scene investigation determined that the owner of the Mercedes-Benz, a 63-year-old Chelmsford woman, panicked after backing into another vehicle in the home’s driveway, and accelerated through the rear of the garage.

There were no reported injuries. Police did not detect any sign of impairment on the part of the operator.

Chelmsford Police have not filed any charges.
