RAYNHAM — Police Chief James Donovan and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday night.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Raynham Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of 205 Judson St. for a report of a vehicle that had rolled over with the operator trapped inside.

Upon arrival, first responders found a Honda Civic in a wooded area that had rolled onto its side, entrapping the driver. Firefighters worked for over an hour, using hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Taunton man, was transported via medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.

The Taunton Fire Department and Harry’s Auto Wrecking responded to the scene to provide assistance, and the Bridgewater Fire Department provided station coverage.

“Firefighters and police officers demonstrated great teamwork and worked diligently to free the driver from the vehicle,” said Chief LaCivita. “We are also grateful to the Taunton Fire Department and Harry’s Auto Wrecking for their work at the scene.”

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Raynham Police Department.
