Family and friends are remembering a Rhode Island man that was killed in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.

According to police, on Saturday, just before 33:15 p.m., a fatal accident occurred when 64-year-old Brian Carney of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, riding his 2009 Harley Road King motorcycle, struck the left rear of a 2022 GMC Sierra driven by a Foster, Rhode Island man who was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Route 6 and Cucumber Hill Road in Killingly, Connecticut.

Carney was transported to Day Kimball Hospital where he later died from his injuries sustained in the accident. The other man involved was not injured.

Brian’s daughter-in-law created a GoFundMe fundraiser for funeral expenses and reflected on him and his passing.

“Brian has 3 children, 2 bonus children, a granddaughter, 2 grandsons, a girlfriend and the mother of his children, and many friends who are devastated by this terrible, unexpected tragedy. All who knew him are affected by this tough time. He was such a great soul and hard worker. He loved riding his bikes and enjoyed time with his family.”

The accident remains under investigation with Connecticut State Police.
