Fall River Police investigating after man shot multiple times in late-night shooting

Fall River Police are investigating a late-night shooting with injuries on Friday.

According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 11:30 p.m., units responded to the 500 block of Rodman Street in response to a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located a 55-year-old victim who had sustained gunshot injuries to each of his legs. After speaking with the victim, officers were able to determine the location where the incident occurred. As a result, several shell casings were recovered.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

At this time, the identity of the individual responsible for this incident has not been determined.

    Mayor Coogan reassured us the streets were safer because some elderly woman turned in her deceased husband’s old hunting rifle at the gun buyback. Clowns these instances are getting more frequent.
