Fall River Police, Fulton County Sheriff combine to arrest father on charges of impregnating daughter

Two agencies hundreds of miles away combined to arrest a man on some disturbing charges.

According to the Fulton County Georgia Sheriff’s Office, this weekend, the Fall River Police Department reached out to the Scorpion Unit with a 14-year-old victim, impregnated by her father. The Scorpion Unit, a special violent crime-suppression unit, acted quickly, fearing the suspect was planning on flying to Puerto Rico where he has family ties.

Roque Garcia-Ortiz is charged with 3 counts of Rape, 3 counts of Aggravated Rape of a child, and 1 count of Rape of child with force. The Scorpion Unit located Ortiz at a hotel in East Point. He was brought in without incident and remains at the Fulton County Jail awaiting extradition back to Massachusetts.
