According to AFSCME L-1202 Professional Paramedics of Fall River, EMS Paramedic Miranda Hennessy, who also serves as a Paramedic in the town of Coventry, RI, was injured while on duty on Tuesday in Coventry.

Hennessy was struck by an oncoming vehicle while exiting her fire apparatus as she was arriving on scene of a medical emergency on Victory Highway at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The driver fled the scene after causing injury to both Hennessy and her partner.

Hennessy suffered multiple injuries and underwent surgery at Rhode Island Hospital.

Hennessy is a single mother who provides for three small children.

In an effort to help support her and her children, the FREMS H.O.P.E Foundation is accepting donations in which 100% will be given to Hennessy. Donations may be made to the foundation by using the Venmo QR code below.

Oh my. From a single mama to another can we set up a food train too? Laundry assistance? Three small ones is a lot of laundry and snacks. Please let me know what we can organize for those with limited dollars but want to help in the ways we know pile up FAST. Is there something set up for her partner too? This is so terrible. Coming to the rescue to be hurt by a ninny that flees.

Good people help those in need if they can afford to. Good for you Camillia! I say once money for your own needs is done it’s supposed to be spent on other people. Where can I send my thirty dollars?
