Fall River man arrested after rampage, damaging property at two banks, police cruiser
Fall River police arrested a city man after going on a rampage downtown.
According to Detective John Robinson, at 9:07 a.m., Nickey Ricks, 32, went into both Santander and Bank Five banks at 141 and 79 North Main Street where, while armed with a hammer, he demanded $5000.00 from the tellers.
After Ricks was refused by the tellers at both locations, he destroyed glass windows, tables, and doors on his way out.
He was located on Purchase Street by Officer Zachary Dupere who placed him into custody with Sgt. James Thorpe. Prior to being restrained, Ricks smashed Officer Dupere’s cruiser windshield.
No cash was taken.
Ricks of 219 Purchase St. #1 was charged with:
Assault to Rob 2 counts
Vandalize Property 3 counts
Assault Dangerous Weapon
Disturbing the Peace While Armed
Disorderly Conduct
Resisting Arrest
