Fall River firefighters make evening water rescue after victim ends up in Cook Pond

A man was rescued from Fall River waters after an incident on Wednesday evening.

Just after 6:45 p.m., a call came into dispatch for a victim in the water who was on a fishing boat near Henry Street on Cook Pond.

Upon arrival, Fall River personnel discovered the victim in the water approximately 150 yards offshore.

Fall River firefighters put on their wet suits and got aboard Marine 2 to make the rescue.

Personnel stated that the victim noted there were no medical issues and that the boat capsized.

The patient was evaluated by EMS once on shore.
