A department head in Fall River has resigned.

According to an interview of Mayor Paul Coogan on the Marc Dion Show on Fall River Reporter, Fall River Department of Community Maintenance head John Perry has resigned, and the city is going in a different direction.

Dion asked Mayor Coogan about details concerning the resignation and confidentiality.

“Obviously Human Resources is very tight lipped about what they can and cannot say about all of our employees and that’s kind of the way it is with the law.”

Perry will still be eligible for his pension, and he will be paid off sometime this summer.

Back in April, Perry had been placed on paid leave for two weeks pending an investigation in April, however, the investigation appeared to go on for a few months.

The investigation was being assisted by an outside investigator.

Coogan did not reveal more details concerning Perry, however, the investigation involved multiple alleged incidents that took place recently.

Perry had worked for DCM for a number of years and was hired by then mayor Jasiel Correia to head the department.

Perry was with DPW long before Jasiel. Where was Kenny Pacheco before he was with school department? I think he was director of community maintainence making him John Perry’s boss. Did Mr. Pacheco know of Perry’s wrong doings? We the People would sure love to know…
