Due to shooting spike, 18-year-old Fall River man arrested on gun and drug charges after foot pursuit

Police have arrested a Fall River teen on multiple drug and gun charges.

According to Sergeant Moses Pereira, in response to a recent spike in shooting incidents in the city, Vice, Intelligence, and Gang detectives were conducting surveillance in the South End of the city.

During this time, Detectives received information of a man who was in possession of an illegal firearm. When they observed this male walking in the area of Palmer Street, they identified themselves, which resulted in a brief foot pursuit. The suspect was ultimately apprehended.

A subsequent search led to the discovery of a black Taurus PT 99 AF Para firearm in his waistband, along with 17 bags of crack cocaine, 7 bags of fentanyl, and $665 in cash.

Lamahrion Colson, 18, was charged with multiple firearms and drug related offenses including, carrying a large capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession to distribute a class A drug, and possession to distribute a class B drug. Detectives will also be seeking to charge Colson under the Armed Career Criminal statute.

    Fall River born and raised. Forced to sell drugs in order to finance his market rate apartment.

    Yup. These people are grandparents by the time they’re 30, so no doubt the family has been in the city for generations.

    He’s a good kid. He is just starting to get his life together. Probably has a child or two as well.

    this nasty Hoodrat was in possession of a loaded Taurus PT 99 AF and did not possess a license to carry a firearm ? Why and how can such a thing happen ? Massachusetts has very strict
    GUN LAWS!!
    If guns are outlawed will only criminal Hoodrats have Guns ?? Yes they will.
