A driver was cited and transported to the hospital after a weekend crash on Route 6.

According to Detective Sergeant Bryan McCarthy on Sunday at approximately 2:00 p.m., Westport Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of 190 State Road for a roll over with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers located a GMC pickup on its side in the west bound lane of travel. Two utility poles were broken, leaving wires across both lanes of travel.

Police shut down traffic in both directions causing traffic to backup.

Westport Fire treated the operator, who was then transported to a local hospital.
