Dighton authorities investigating multiple trailer fires

A serious fire in the Town of Dighton is currently under investigation and authorities are looking for the public’s help.

According to the Dighton Fire Department, at approximately 6:08 p.m. on Tuesday February 18, the Dighton Fire Department and the Dighton Police Department responded to Maple Swamp Road in the area of the Lopes Baseball/Softball Complex for a report of multiple trailers on fire.

Car 1 arrived on scene to find one camper style trailer fully involved with fire and shortly after arrival it was noticed that a second camper style trailer was burning inside. Both fires were extinguished quickly by Fire Department personnel on Engine 1, 2 & 3, Rescue 1, Ladder 1 Ambulance 1 and Car 2.

Crews remained on scene for approximately an hour and a half performing overhaul operations. The first trailer is a complete loss and the second had fire damage to the interior of the trailer. No equipment or property belonging to the Baseball/Softball League was damaged.

This fire remains under investigation by the Dighton Fire Department and the Dighton Police Department.
