The community has shown incredible support for a Rhode Island family when they need it most.

According to Coventry Police, on Sunday at 1:44 a.m., the Coventry Police along with Coventry Fire and Rescue responded to Audubon Lane for a reported structural fire with a person inside.

The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal’s office did respond and led the investigation. Due to collapsed flooring and structural damage, heavy equipment was brought in to safely search the residence.

The fire was extinguished and one person was located deceased inside the home.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Zack Fabbri a loving husband, devoted father, cherished friend, and an irreplaceable part of the community, was the man who died in the blaze.

“His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”

In addition to losing a family member that can’t be replaced, the house is a total loss along with all of their belongings.

The fundraiser has raised an incredible $165,000 and counting as of this writing.

Neighbors have not stopped there, as, according to the Coventry Police Department, a lemonade stand by the Audubon Lane kids has also been raising funds at the corner of Audubon Lane and Hope Furnace Road.

The Fire remains under investigation by the Coventry Police and Rhode Island State Fire Marshal.
