Bristol County bystander recognized for selflessly going above and beyond coming to aid of elderly man

The Berkley Police Department is acknowledging an extraordinary act of compassion and public service that took place on October 8th, highlighting the remarkable character of one of their community members.

According to Chief of Police Christopher Baker, Bradley Clark, while driving down Berkley Street, noticed an elderly gentleman walking in the center of the roadway. Clark slowed as he approached this individual and observed him move from the center of the roadway off to the side of the road.

As the older gentleman did this, Clark observed him stumbled and fall. Witnessing this, Clark made a decision that would have a profound impact on the lives of those involved.

Instead of continuing on his way. Clark turned his vehicle around and immediately provided assistance to the fallen elderly man. With great care and concern, he helped the gentleman to his feet and promptly called 9ll for emergency assistance.

Going above and beyond, Clark ensured the elderly man’s safety by offering him a seat in his own car until the police and fire departments arrived.

Thanks to Clark’s intervention, Officer Haarala and the coordinated efforts of the police and fire departments were able to locate the elderly gentleman’s home and reunite him with his son, alleviating the distress experienced by his family.

Impressed by Clark’s actions, Officer Haarala brought the incident to the attention of shift supervisor Sergeant Realini. After careful consideration and discussion by the officers, it was unanimously agreed that Clark’s exceptional act of compassion and public service deserved recognition.

Chief Baker stated that the Berkley Police Department believes it is crucial to acknowledge and appreciate individuals like Bradley Clark, who selflessly go above and beyond to help others in our community. His actions exemplify the values we hold dear and serve as an inspiration to us all.

In recognition of his outstanding service, the Berkley Police Department and Selectboard were honored to present Bradley Clark with a certificate of public service.
