Battleship Cove in Fall River reschedules reopening date; What else opens in phase 3 and 4?

The Battleship Cove is expected to be opening soon, but not as soon as first thought.

The Battleship Cove was tentatively scheduled to reopen to the public today, Monday, June 29th. However, the date has been rescheduled and the reopening is now scheduled to take place on July 6th on the conditions and regulations in effect at that time by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The earliest Phase 3 can start in Massachusetts is July 6th which includes museums.

Once the Battleship Cove reopens, parts of a boat commanded by John F. Kennedy in World War II are expected to be on display.

The following is a reminder of what already opened in phase 2, and what has yet to open in phases 3 and 4.

Retail Stores, including stores in mallsCasinos
Hotel & Restaurants – Phase 2
Gaming floors – Phase 3
Theaters / arenas – Phase 3/4

Horse racing simulcast facilities (no spectators)
Phase 3

Driving schools
Phase 2 – behind-the-wheel training or observation of another student driver

Hotels, motels, inns, and other short-term lodgings
Phase 2 – reopen to serve other guests with restrictions

Personal services that don’t involve close personal contact (such as photography, window washers, career coaching)
Phase 2

Close contact personal services (such as massage therapy, nail salons, tattoo parlors, electrolysis studios)

Personal trainers
Phase 2 – as a close contact personal service, not at the outset of Phase 2

Restaurants
Phase 2 – outdoor seating permitted at outset of Phase 2, indoor seating will be permitted later in Phase 2
