Authorities confirm dead body washed ashore at Battleship Cove in Fall River
A tragic discovery was made Sunday afternoon on the Fall River waterfront.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at 12:44 p.m. the Fall River Police Department received a report of a body floating in the Taunton River in the vicinity of Battleship Cove. Fall River Police and Fire responded to the scene and were able recover the body of a deceased male.
Detectives from the Fall River Police Major Crimes Division as well as State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are currently conducting an investigation.
