Officials issued an update on Monday evening after three elderly people were beaten and stabbed to death this past weekend.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Newton Police responded to a Broadway Street residence after three elderly persons were found dead inside the home from an apparent homicide.

A person known to the victims called 911 to report that three people believed to be the elderly residents of the home were found dead inside from apparent stab wounds and blunt trauma. The preliminary investigation suggests that there were signs of forced entry into the home.

The victims were Gilda (Jill) and Bruno D’Amore, a married couple in their 70s, who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and Jill’s mother, 97-year-old Lucia Arpino.

A friend discovered the three after going to the home after they did not show up for a service to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary.

41-year-old Christopher Ferguson of Newton has been charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury, and burglary.

There were obvious signs of struggle in the home, according to authorities, and Jill D’Amore suffered over 30 stab and blunt force trauma wounds.

Testing on the bodies of Bruno D’Amore and Lucia Arpino have yet to be completed leading to just one murder charge currently for Ferguson, however charges are expected to be upgraded.

As part of the investigation which began yesterday and continued today, investigators canvassed the neighborhood and were able to locate a video from Albemarle Road that depicted a shirtless male walking barefoot in that area, believed to be Ferguson, which is four-tenths of a mile from the victim’s home, at 5:20 a.m. on June 25.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan stated that evidence, including a footprint, was tied to Ferguson. Evidence currently suggests that there were no ties between Ferguson and the family.

Ferguson’s arraignment is expected to be scheduled for Tuesday at Newton District Court.

Defund the police even more. That will help.
Remain a sanctuary state/city. That will help.
No cash bail. That will help.
No more INSANE asylums. That will help.
Knife control laws needed. That will help.
