Another Massachusetts State Police Trooper has been hospitalized after a crash while stationary.

According to the State Police Association of Massachusetts, on Monday evening, an unnamed officer was injured after being struck while working a detail on Route 93 in Wilmington.

Luckily, the Trooper was only hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries and has been released back home to his family.

SPAM has become frustrated as MSP vehicles continue to be hit. Often while stationary.

“We have pleaded time and time again for operators in the Commonwealth to Slow Down and Move Over. We have done press conferences, launched public awareness campaigns, and even filed new legislation to increase the penalty. Even after all these pleas – our members are still being struck and injured while performing their duties roadside. It is simple – SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER! We again plead with all drivers across the Commonwealth to Slow Down and Move Over, we are one crash away from burring another member.”

It will make no difference how many times it’s said to SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER, or conferences you have, people won’t listen until they are routinely being pulled over and ticketed for speeding. I live in a highly populated suburban street in FR that at one time was just a quarter of a mile long. After 25 years it is a mile long. People go up and down the street like it’s a race track. There are no sidewalks, people are walking their dog or running. A kitten was killed a couple of weeks ago. A nursing mother skunk with 12 teats was dead in the road. Also, to make matters worst, the speedsters are sometimes looking at their phone!

Death penalty for using phone while driving! That’s the only thing that will work.

If that were the case you would lose a lot of family members.

Part of problem sometimes after dark police lights blind drivers so difficult to distinguish location of cruiser.
