Man dead in Route 24 crash Tuesday
At approximately 7:45 p.m. today troopers assigned to State Police-Middleboro and State Police-Dartmouth responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 24 northbound North of Exit 10 in Freetown. Troopers and EMT’s arrived on scene simultaneously and discovered that the operator, a 34-year-old male, was deceased. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Preliminary information shows the vehicle was being operated northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, it left the roadway and struck a tree causing fatal injuries to the operator.
The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit, Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section.
Troopers were assisted on scene by Freetown Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
A crash claimed the life of a Wareham man on Route 24 in Freetown on Sunday.
