Taunton woman killed, another seriously injured in Saturday night crash
At approximately 10 p.m. yesterday Troopers assigned to State Police Foxboro responded to reports of a two vehicle crash with serious injuries on Route 495 northbound North of Exit 10 in Norton.
For reasons that remain under investigation, the two vehicles collided causing one vehicle to veer off the roadway and strike a tree resulting in the death of a 49-year-old female passenger from Taunton. Norton and Mansfield Fire Departments both responded to the scene and requested MedFlight for the operator, a 46-year-old man from Taunton, who was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The operator of the other vehicle, a 22-year-old man from Middleborough, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by Troopers assigned to State Police Foxboro, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit also responded to the scene to investigate. No other information is available at this time.
