Massachusetts State Lottery announces first winner of $1,000,000 prize on new game

The holiday season is the perfect time to win a $1,000,000 prize on a State Lottery scratch ticket and that’s exactly what happened this week.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Magical Season Trust of Quincy has claimed the first $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “$1,000,000 Winter Winnings” instant ticket game that went on sale Tuesday, October 14.

The trust, represented by trustee David Spillane, opted to receive its prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).

The winning ticket was purchased at Colonial Liquors, 300 Mishawum Rd. in Woburn. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
