SWANSEA — Chief Mark Foley reports that the Swansea Police Department arrested and charged a Fall River Man in connection with an unarmed robbery

On Monday, at approximately 5:42 p.m., Swansea Police responded to Walgreens Pharmacy, 510 Wilbur Ave., for reports of a robbery.

The suspect was reportedly unarmed and stole prescription medication. The suspect was described as a white male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a baseball hat, sunglasses, an N95-style mask, and tan cargo pants. He was seen driving a tan or gray Toyota Tundra TRD pickup truck that was carrying a ladder rack and a toolbox.

A subsequent investigation that utilized surveillance footage and the assistance of the public identified a suspect and vehicle. An arrest warrant was obtained.

On Thursday, at approximately 7:32 a.m., Swansea Police conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Toyota Tundra. The driver of the vehicle, 42-year-old Jordan Medeiros of Fall River, was arrested without incident.

An initial search of Medeiros determined that he was carrying a double-edged switchblade. The switchblade was not used during the robbery.

Medeiros was arrested and charged with Warrant (Unarmed Robbery), Speeding, and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.

He is expected to be arraigned in Fall District Court on Thursday.
