Friends, family, and coworkers are remembering a Massachusetts man killed this week after a multi-vehicle crash involving a bus on Cape Cod.

According to police, at just after 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, officers from the Barnstable Police Department were called to Old Stage Road near Carleton Lane in Centerville regarding an accident with personal injury.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers observed that three vehicles were involved in the accident, including a bus from the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority.

Due to the severity of the crash, one of the involved operators was not breathing which led officers to begin performing CPR on him.

Centerville Osterville Marstons Mills Fire Department rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and treated and transported three people from the accident scene to Cape Cod Hospital.

Soon after arriving at the hospital, the unresponsive operator, 39-year-old Eric Taylor from Centerville, according to those who knew him, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

In a GoFundMe fundraiser created by Taylor’s employer Sunrise Erectors, “ET” was described as “a wonderful friend and highly respected colleague who won the hearts of all he crossed paths with here at Sunrise. His profound impact was felt from the very start. He leaves an incredible void in our company and our hearts. He will be deeply missed and will always be in our thoughts.” Others referred to Taylor as another great person gone to soon that was a pleasure to know.

The Barnstable Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
