18-year-old charged with attempted murder in triple stabbing in Middleborough

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Police Chief Joseph Perkins reports that the Middleborough Police Department arrested and charged an 18-year-old Middleborough teen with stabbing three teenagers early Saturday morning.

At just after midnight, the Middleborough Police Department received a 911 call reporting multiple people stabbed in the area of the power lines on Wall Street.

Officers responded and located two 19-year-old men from Carver suffering from stab wounds. One of the 19-year-olds suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso and was transported to Boston Medical Center in critical condition. The other 19-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds to his leg and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

A third victim, a 15-year-old Middleborough boy who suffered a stab wound to the leg, was taken to Tobey Hospital by a private citizen.

As a result of a subsequent investigation by Middleborough Police, 18-year-old Jayden Wainwright of Middleborough was taken into custody.

Wainwright was charged with Attempted Murder and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Three Counts).

He was ordered held on $25,000 cash bail and is being held at the Plymouth County House of Correction. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Wareham District Court.

The case remains under active investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming against additional individuals.
