Yarmouth Officer killed serving a warrant
UPDATE: Massachusetts State Police has announced that the officer killed in today’s shooting is Sean Gannon. Gannon’s K9 partner was also injured in today’s tragic incident. Our condolences to Officer Gannon’s fellow officers, family, and friends.
A Yarmouth police officer serving a warrant was shot in the Marstons Mills village of Barnstable this afternoon and according to WCVB the officer has died. It has been reported that the officer was shot in the head.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the suspect is in custody.
The incident occurred at 109 Blueberry Lane.
No other details are available at this time.
