While shorthanded Arizona State continues to struggle in regular season finale, Fall River’s Joson Sanon continues to shine

A basketball star from Fall River remained hot Saturday, posting an impressive four game stretch.
Arizona State (13-18, 4-16) dropped a blowout to 9th ranked Texas Tech (24-7, 15-5), 85-57. The Sun Devils were once again down starting forward Jayden Quaintance and starting guard Adam Miller. Starting guard BJ Freeman was recently released due to conduct detrimental to the team.
With ASU being shorthanded once again, Joson Sanon stepped up with another big game and has scored 81 points in his last four games with his previous struggles after a high ankle sprain far behind him.
Sanon notched 16 points with 4 rebounds against the Red Raiders in the regular season finale. On Tuesday, Joson tallied 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting against the 24th ranked Wildcats while grabbing 5 boards. Last Sunday against Utah, he poured in a 28-point performance, burying 11 of his 20 shots, 4 of 5 from long range. On February 26th, Sanon put up an 18 point, 5 rebound, 4 assist performance against 25th ranked BYU.
The Sun Devils will play Kansas State in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament at 7:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday.
If the freshman Sanon declares for the 2025 NBA Draft, he is currently projected as a 2nd round pick.
