VIDEO: Fall River Police, Fire Departments help Fall River boy celebrate birthday during COVID-19 pandemic

Celebrations are difficult these days due to social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 coronavirus. The virus or a dreary day didn’t stop the Fall River Police and Fire Departments from helping a Fall River boy celebrate his special day with a bang.

With the help of many others in the community, including friends, family, and neighbors, FRFD and FRPD led a parade for Max’s 5th birthday Friday.

When it came to setting up the parade, Max’s mother Jill Craveiro contacted both departments and they were more than happy to help.

“We had the help of Jason Burns, the union president of the FRFD, and we contacted the FRPD who were also more than willing to help barring any emergencies going on in the city. We were glad they were able to make it.”

Due to social distancing, celebrating Max’s birthday the way the family intended was not possible.

“We were unable to celebrate as planned. Shout out to the FRPD and FRFD for coming out and making a boy’s day! It was a great way to escape all of the craziness going on around us even if it was for only a few minutes. We appreciated it!”

Despite the change of plans, that didn’t stop Max from being blown away on his special day.

“He was speechless throughout. Then as we walked in the house he said; “Was that REALLY all for me?”
