Venus de Milo Restaurant opening continues to be pushed back due to lack of staffing
The re-opening of an iconic area restaurant will have to wait once again.
Venus de Milo Restaurant, which was hoping to open for Memorial Day weekend, is having a difficult time recruiting employees, and now will not be ready to open July 4th weekend either.
Businesses across the country have had a difficult time filling positions and Massachusetts is no exception. The problem is so severe that Massachusetts lawmakers are eyeing a three part $1,200 get back to work bonus.
Takeout will still be available at 75 Grand Army Highway in Swansea on the weekends.
The summer items menu has also been released.
Owner Monte Ferris announced in September of 2020 that the Venus de Milo would be closing and the property was put up for sale due to impacts from the COVID-19 virus. However, Ferris announced a change of heart early in May and had anticipated a soft opening by Memorial Day.
