The ultimate golfing experience is coming to Fall River, only indoors.

JD’s Back Nine was established in the summer of 2023, by owners and co-founders, Desmond Sanders and Jay Sousa. The pair, who are from Fall River, noticed that the Fall River area had no facility for all golfers to have the enjoyment of being able to golf year-round.

Sanders and Sousa are hoping to bring in new golfers to the sport, using their modern technology, to bring entertainment to the game of golf.

JD’s will use state-of-the-art simulators to provide an immersive golfing experience in a comfortable and climate-controlled environment, with programming of over 80 courses worldwide. The club plans to cater to all skill levels even though the technology is used by golf professionals.

The experience is intended to be so lifelike, minus the frigid temperatures of Fall River winters, that there will be tee times you can reserve online, apparel, tournaments, leagues, and even a bar/lounge.

A variety of membership options will be available in addition to rates by the hour. The rate for Monday – Sunday (Excluding Holidays) will be $55 an hour with holidays (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas) coming in at $65 an hour. JD’s will also have special rates for groups. A typical round of 18 holes takes approximately one hour per person.

Hours of operation are expected to be 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 7 days a week.

Ownership tells Fall River Reporter that an exact opening date is uncertain. They already have a location that they would not reveal as they are waiting for the current tenant to leave.

Until JD’s Back Nine opens, Fall River area golfers will just have to brave the elements or hope for a warmer than normal fall.
