Twenty-five men and women from 14 different countries become American citizens in Fall River
The Bristol Superior Court hosted Friday its 8th Annual Naturalization Ceremony at the Fall River Justice Center.
Twenty-five men and women from 14 different countries took an Oath of Allegiance to become American citizens. Each were given a mini American flag.
The Naturalization Ceremony is one of the numerous celebrations that are part of the Massachusetts Trial Court’s 8th Annual Cultural Appreciation Week – a celebration of culture, diversity, and community.
Honorable Regional Administrative Judge Raffi Yessayan presided over the ceremony.
Bristol Superior Court Chief Probation Officer Robert Blackburn, an organizer of the annual ceremony, said, “this event is always very uplifting. It is great to see the excitement of those who take the oath and the smiles on the faces of their family and friends.”
The new American citizens hail from the countries of Brazil, Cabo Verde, the Dominican Republic, Cambodia, China, Haiti, Jamaica, Jordan, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, Togo, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
