Early Childhood Mental Health Counselor – South Bay Community Services

We consider 20 clinical hours full time employees — build your caseload as an Early Childhood Mental Health Counselor/Clinician and get experience on a pace that will make you successful.

Educational and Licensing Requirements of an Early Childhood Mental Health Counselor/Clinician:
• Master’s level degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or a Master’s degree with a concentration in one of the areas of • Counseling such as: Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling required
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license preferred, but not required

Duties & Responsibilities of an Early Childhood Mental Health Counselor/Clinician:
• Lead individual, family, couples, and group therapy in-home sessions
• Conduct in-home client intake sessions in the Fall River, MA area
• Facilitate crisis intervention
• Conduct case management
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to present cases for proper treatment
• Attend monthly in-service trainings

Skills & Experience of an Early Childhood Mental Health Counselor/Clinician
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and own a vehicle to visit client’s homes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of patient needs when devising and implementing treatment
• Ability to identify problem behaviors, provide advice and track development effectively
• Experience or understanding of underserved populations, a plus
• PC literacy and experience with MS Office Applications
