State Police identify Massachusetts, New Hampshire residents deceased, Connecticut man injured in highway crash
Two people are dead, and another injured, after a highway crash that took place on Wednesday.
According to State Police, at just after 10:30 p.m., a 2006 Mack CV700 Dump Truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 84 in the right lane of three, while a 2026 Kia Sportage was traveling westbound in the right lane of three, directly behind the Mack, in the Town of Tolland, Connecticut.
For an unknown reason, the Kia collided with the rear of the Mack, causing disabling damage to the Mack and disabling damage to the Kia.
The operator of the Mack, 41-year-old Kwame Stewart of Connecticut, suffered possible injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital for an evaluation. The Kia operator, 29-year-old Paige Cooke of New Hampshire and passenger, 28-year-old Kristian Murphy of Massachusetts, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
