Southcoast Health fires 200+ employees concerning vaccine mandate
Southcoast Health is taking their vaccine mandate seriously after firing over 200 employees on Tuesday.
According to The Herald News, a spokesperson for the company stated that 216 of the 7,500 employees were removed from their positions.
102 staff members who missed the deadline and were placed on leave, returned to work after showing proof of completing one dose of the vaccine. Those who did not receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be tested regularly until they receive their second dose and are fully vaccinated.
The spokesperson stated that 151 other workers will be tested regularly after being given a medical or religious exemption.
Southcoast Health consists of Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Southcoast Behavioral Health in Dartmouth, and several other care and specialty centers.
Other hospital groups in Massachusetts have also fired employees over company vaccine mandates.
One group of fired employees at Mass General Brigham took their objection to the Supreme Court where it was struck down last week.

Shame on any organization or cooperations that mandate vaccinations. Who do you think you are. Try standing up instead of kissing butts. Pathetic.
