SOMERSET — Police Chief Todd Costa and Fire Chief Jamison Barros are pleased to announce the return of the Somerset Public Safety Day featuring activities for all to enjoy this Saturday.

The Somerset Police and Fire Departments will join forces this weekend to bring the community together in an informative, fun-filled, family-oriented event. The event is free and all are welcome to attend.

As part of the event, children and adults will have an opportunity to check out Somerset Police Department and Fire Department vehicles, as well as K-9, motorcycle and Massachusetts State Police Air Wing demonstrations.

An interactive smoke trailer, information booths and games, children’s activities, crafts, face painting, food, music and more will also be at the event for all to enjoy.

Expected participants for this year’s event include the Massachusetts State and Environmental Police Departments, Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Children’s Advocacy Center, Home Depot, Liberty Utilities, AAA, and many more.

In addition to the activities held at previous year’s events, this year’s event will include a “Bike Rodeo” as part of the day’s activities. The “Bike Rodeo” will allow children to learn bike safety and practice to better ensure they are taking all proper precautions when riding in the community.

Public Safety Day is being held Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine at Somerset-Berkley Regional High School, 625 County Street.
