BROCKTON – A Brockton 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a city man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police have been actively investigating the February 10th fatal shooting of Fabio Andrade-Monteiro, 22. Late yesterday, State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office sought and obtained an arrest warrant for 15-year-old Jeremy Depina of Brockton. Late yesterday, Depina was located in Taunton and placed under arrest without incident.

This arrest is the second arrest of a teen in connection with Andrade-Monteiro’s murder. On Wednesday, Tashawn Brown, 17, of Brockton, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder for the fatal shooting. Brown was held without bail and is next scheduled to appear in court on March 17.

The arrests come after an investigation into the fatal shooting, which occurred on February 10, 2022. Just after 10 p.m., Brockton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at 102 Ash Street. Upon arrival, police located a male victim, later identified as Andrade-Monteiro, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead just after midnight.

Brockton Police contacted Massachusetts State Police and an investigation commenced. Police interviewed witnesses, reviewed surveillance video, and examined cell phone records. As a result of the investigation, the two arrest warrants were issued.

Depina is being held until his arraignment on a murder charge in Brockton District Court, scheduled for Monday.
