Search continues for Massachusetts man accused of fatally shooting 30-year-old wife

WORCESTER – Investigators are continuing their efforts to locate Aaron Pennington, who is wanted for the murder of his wife Breanne Pennington that occurred on Oct. 22, 2023 in Gardner, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

Pennington left his home at 42 Cherry St. in Gardner around 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22 after fatally shooting his 30-year-old wife Breanne. His vehicle was located in a wooded area off Kelton Street in Gardner the next night. A murder warrant was later issued for his arrest.

In the days that followed, police assets extensively searched the wooded area for Pennington. The agencies involved in the search included: Gardner Police, Ashburnham Police, State Police Special Emergency Response Team, State Police Tactical Operations, Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, State Police Air Wing, State Police K-9, State Police Dive Team and Marine Unit, Environmental Police, State Police Troop C headquarters, State Police Athol, and the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.

Several additional searches have been conducted in the same wooded area in Gardner, including as recently as Sept. 23, 2024.

Investigators are going to perform additional ground and air searches in the Gardner area as the investigation continues and will continue to search until he is located.

Pennington is a white male with blonde hair, blue eyes, 6′ 2″ and approximately 175 lbs.

Police are warning the public not to approach Pennington as he is potentially armed and dangerous.
