Storm forecast, school closures, parking bans announced for greater Fall River area

Here is an update on today’s nor’easter.

SCHOOLS

According to Superintendent Matthew Malone, tomorrow will be a snow day for Fall River Public Schools. All buildings are closed, but there will be remote learning on-line from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All employees except facilities team will work remotely & the day will count as one of the 170 required school days.

Somerset Schools: Remote Learning Day Thursday for all staff and students.

Swansea: Swansea School buildings will be closed and the district will engage in remote teaching and learning for all grades Thursday.

Westport Schools: Remote Learning Day Thursday for all staff and students.

Tiverton Schools: Remote Learning Day Thursday for all staff and students.

PARKING BANS

Fall River: Mayor Paul Coogan announced Tuesday a citywide parking ban, which will go into effect beginning Wednesday, December 16, at 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday. For more on this click here.

Somerset: Parking Ban will go into effect at 5:00 p.m. today and remain in effect until Friday, December 18th, at noon.

Swansea: Parking Ban from Wednesday 7:00 p.m. thru Thursday 7:00 p.m.

Tiverton: Parking Ban at 9:00 p.m. today until further notice.

Dartmouth: Parking Ban at 9:00 p.m. today until 9:00 p.m. Thursday.

New Bedford: Parking Ban at 5:00 p.m. today.

Seekonk: Parking Ban at 8:00 p.m. today until further notice.

Taunton: Parking Ban from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
