Rhode Island man charged with robbing two spots in one hour Monday evening
The Johnston Police responded to two separate reports of robbery that occurred around midnight last evening.
At approximately 11:30 pm, police responded to the Mobil Gas Station located at 1897 Plainfield Street and approximately one hour later, the Shell Gas Station located at 525 Killingly Street. Through the course of the investigation, police obtained a description of the suspect and his vehicle. With the assistance of the Providence and Cranston Police Departments, the suspect Earl C. Sanford, 40 of 180 Federal Way, Johnston, Rhode Island was taken in to custody at the Shell Gas Station located at 200 Union Avenue without incident.
Sanford is being charged with two counts of first degree robbery and will be arraigned later today at Kent County Court Hose located in Warwick, Rhode Island.
