Sign-ups begin for free Learn to Row Camp in Fall River

Bay Coast Rowing Center located on South Watuppa Pond together with United Way of Greater Fall River is pleased to announce a FREE Learn to Row Camp August 5th through August 30th for students 14 to 17 years old. Camp will be held Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 10:00 am at the Bay Coast Rowing Center, 994 Jefferson St. Ext, Fall River, MA.

Enrollment will be limited to 27 students from the Greater Fall River region. Apply online using this link: http://bit.ly/LearnToRow2019 No rowing experience is necessary, although students who have enrolled in our earlier rowing programs are encouraged to apply. Participating students must provide proof that they can pass a swim test and will commit to attend five days a week. Students who will be away in August for more than a few days will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Crew is currently the fastest growing sport in the United States at the collegiate level, particularly among women due to the substantial amount of scholarship money available to women rowers as a result of Title IX. Watuppa Pond is currently the only body of water in New England approved for Olympic competition. Bay Coast Rowing Center coaches are highly skilled and special guest coaches include Olympic medalists.
