Rehoboth Police, DEA-New Bedford, Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force, Seekonk Police, arrest man on drug distribution charges

Several local agencies combined to make a drug arrest on Thursday morning.

According to Deputy Chief of Police Brian Ramos, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Officers from the Rehoboth Police Department, with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Agency New Bedford Office, The Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force and Seekonk Police Department, served a search warrant at a home on Allens Lane in Rehoboth.

The search warrant was the result of a three-month long investigation into the sale of illegal drugs at the home.

During the execution of the search warrant, several items were located that were consistent with the trafficking, sale, and distribution of narcotics.

Based on the evidence found in the home 37-year-old Michael Young of Allens Lane was arrested at the scene.

Young was charged with Possession with intent to distribute a class C substance. Marijuana, Trafficking in 100 pounds or more, Possession with intent to distribute a class B substance, and Possession with intent to distribute a class E substance.

Young was held on $100,000 cash bail and is due to appear in court for arraignment on Friday.
