Rehoboth crash involving camper leads to the arrest of Bristol County man
A car accident on Sunday led to the arrest of Bristol County man.
According to Sgt. James Casey, at approximately 3:14 p.m., Ptlm. Christopher Pezzuolo, Ptlm. Louis DiBacco and Sgt. Brian Ramos responded to 537 Winthrop Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a gold Ford pickup truck towing a fifth wheel camper rear ended a Dodge Durango.
During the investigation of the crash, Ptlm. Pezzuolo noticed that the operator of the Ford pickup, 46-year-old Brian Pierce of King Philip Drive in Norton, showed signs and symptoms of impairment due to the consumption of alcohol.
Pierce was asked to submit to a series of field sobriety tests and refused. Based on Ptlm. Pezzuolo’s observations of Pierce, he was taken into custody without incident.
Pierce was transported to the Rehoboth Police Station where he was booked. Pierce was released on $540.00 bail and is due to appear in Taunton District Court Monday morning for arraignment on the charges of Operating under the influence of alcohol 3rd offense, Negligent operator of a motor vehicle, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
