Raynham Police Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian
RAYNHAM — Chief James Donovan reports that the Raynham Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred last night involving a pedestrian.
On Saturday, Dec. 29, at approximately 10:41 p.m., Raynham Police received a report of a pedestrian struck on Route 44 east, near IHOP.
Upon arrival to the scene, police located Luke Cosgrove, age 24, of Norton, who was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An on scene investigation indicated that the victim was on foot in the travel lane when a 60-year-old woman from Taunton, traveling east on Route 44 in a 2012 Toyota RAV4, struck him. The driver was not injured and remained on scene.
The incident is under active investigation by the Raynham Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
