A popular donut shop in North Kingstown, Rhode Island announced that they are doing somewhat of a reversal on their stance concerning police.

Allie’s Donuts posted on Instagram in June that they would no longer offer a discount for military and police officers in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

“We’re fed up. Until local police takes action to solve problems with racism & injustice, @alliesdonuts will choose to stand with the people of our great state. We will no longer offer military or police discounts. Thank you for your service, And shame on you for your silence.”

Today, however, the donut shop began a new promotion.

“Hey y’all! Starting today, we are putting together half-dozen box gifts, FREE to the public, as long as they promise to bring them to their local police departments!”

“Come down and grab them while they’re available, and if you tag us in a photo of you alongside the police men & women, we will make sure to get you a FREE ALLIE’s T-SHIRT!”

“Obviously supplies will go quickly, but we will do this every day we can until further notice! Let’s all be Allies. (Apostrophe not included!).”

It is currently unclear what prompted the promotion.
