Police investigating shooting where Fall River woman was seriously injured after being shot multiple times
Fall River Police are investigating a Monday night shooting that has left a woman seriously injured.
According to Sergeant Moses Pereira, just after 11:30 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of Buffinton Street in response to a report of shots fired in the area.
Upon arrival, Officer Glenn Souza located a female victim who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The female although alert, was bleeding heavily from a possible arterial wound to her left arm. Officer Souza quickly applied a tourniquet, to control the blood loss.
The victim, a 51-year-old Fall River resident, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital due to the severity of her injuries. Pereira stated that her injuries are non-life threatening.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud argument in the street moments before the shots were fired.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division have been assigned to the investigation.
