Police investigating serious early morning crash, fire in Dighton
Authorities are investigating a serious crash overnight.
According to Dighton Fire and Rescue, at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, the Dighton Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Elm Street and Somerset Ave.
When Dighton Police officers arrived on scene, they reported a vehicle which was 20 feet into the woods and on fire. The driver had self extricated himself. Paramedics along with DPD removed the party from the woods and crews quickly extinguished the fire.
Authorities stated that one party was transported to the hospital for evaluation and the vehicle was removed from the woods.
