Local police, a hazmat crew, and a rescue team responded to a Bristol County hotel Wednesday evening.

According to scanner transmissions, just before 7:00 p.m., personnel responded to a hotel room at Mary’s Motor Lodge at 1159 Fall River Avenue in Seekonk.

Seekonk Police Chief Dean Isabella stated that officers responded to a report of a person overdosing.

Officers provided medical aid until rescue responded.

The room was cleared by hazmat due to suspected fentanyl being on a table.

According to Chief Isabella, officers were not exposed.

The suspect was transported to the hospital.

The Rehoboth Fire Department covered Seekonk Fire Headquarters during the incident.
