Police Athletic League of Fall River hosting 59th Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament
In its 70th anniversary, the Police Athletic League of Fall River is hosting the 59th Southern New England Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament. The annual event will take place at the P.A.L. Hall, located at 31 Franklin Street, in Fall River.
According to PAL President Deputy Chief Charles Cullen, to date 40 boxers have registered. The athletes come from throughout southern New England. Participants range in age from 16 to 34 years old.
There will be approximately 10 bouts nightly.
The 2022 schedule includes preliminaries on Saturday, January 29, semi-finals on Saturday, February 5, and finals, Saturday, February 12.
Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 508-636-6173. Ticket sales will also be available at the door on a first come first served basis. Prices are $25.00 for January 29 and February 5, and $30.00 for
the finals on February 12.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the first bout is scheduled for 7:00 pm. There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available at the bar along with food from our snack bar.
