Police arrest two after Fall River shooting, pistol whipping, robbery

Fall River Police arrested two men after an incident that took place in the city on Sunday.

According to Lieutenant Greg Wiley, Uniform Officers responded to 57 Liberty Street at approximately 7:40 p.m. for a report of a shot being fired.

Upon arrival, officers located and spoke with a 50-year-old victim who was bleeding from the face. The victim informed officers that he was travelling in the rear passenger seat of a motor vehicle when the front passenger fired a single round from within the motor vehicle.

Wiley stated that the vehicle later stopped in the area of Liberty Street where the victim and front passenger exited the vehicle and engaged in a physical confrontation. The driver exited the vehicle at this point and both the driver and front passenger began to assault the victim. The victim said he was struck several times with the firearm.

One of the men removed the victim’s wallet from his pants and both fled the area.

During the investigation, the vehicle in question was located and the driver, 37-year-old Liduino Tavaraes and the passenger, 26-year-old Ricky Mims-Ward were placed under arrest.
