Massachusetts correction officer arrested, facing drug charges, placed on leave

A Massachusetts correction officer is facing charges after being arrested last week.

According to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office and court records, 44-year-old Vito A. Forlano, of Attleboro, was arrested Thursday when he arrived for his shift at Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Norfolk.

Forlano has been charged with possession and distribution of a class B drug and delivering articles to prisoners in correctional institution.

Forlano was arraigned Friday at Wrentham District Court. He has another court appearance set for November 4.

Bail was set for Forlano at $1,000.

Forlano was placed on leave pending the completion of the investigation and was ordered to keep away from the MCI-Norfolk facility.

Interesting how they left out that this correctional officer actually was the union steward AND was caught with fentanyl also but somehow that wasnt mentioned. “Shocker” As for the five inmates that overdosed at MCI Norfolk on fentanyl in the past year? No mention of that either. Place is a joke. Maybe they should focus a little more on the employees they hire vs visiting room protocol lol
