While we are basking in the sunshine today, our next precipitation maker has its sights set on southern New England.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for much of southern New England, while Cape Cod has been issued a High Wind Warning.

According to the National Weather Service, southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected for portions of eastern, northeastern and southeastern Massachusetts and northern and southern Rhode Island from 1:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

In addition to strong winds, heavy rain is also expected in much of the area where up to an inch and a half could be seen.

A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued for the Berkshires where higher elevations could see up to 4″ of snow.

The NWS warns that gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and power outages are possible.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
